Modelos e Bonitinhos não entram!
Alguma polémica tem surgido, de tempos em tempos, no universo das novelas, sobre a colocação de pessoas sem grande ou nenhuma formação como actores de novelas em papéis com ou menos destaque. Alguns manifestam-se claramente contra. A maioria não é tão directa e outros ainda, convencem quando dizem não ter problema algum.
Eis exemplos de boas actrizes que têm um passado noutras áreas (ou em nenhumas). É o caso de Mónica Carvalho, Cristiana Oliveira, Isadora Ribeiro, Betty Lago ou Sílvia Pfeifer. Também se dão os casos de “descobertas”, pessoas que foram abordadas na rua e sem qualquer experiência prévia, ou semelhante, começaram a representar em novelas. Aconteceu com Carolina Dieckman e Viviane Pasmanter.
Devo confessar que, no meu ponto de vista, também não tem problema algum. E já vou dizer porquê. Talento não se mede pela profissão que se tem. E é por isso, que não vejo mal algum. Além do mais, quem tem alma de artista, tanto pode um dia querer pintar, esculpir, como dirigir, representar, escrever ou filmar. A arte não se limita a um meio.
POLÉMICAS QUE VIERAM AO LUME:
Fundamentadas ou não, na imprensa surgem notícias de casos de insatisfação com a escalação em novelas. O mais recente talvez tenha sido o de Grazielli Massafera em Páginas da Vida. Por ter participado no Big-Brother, a coisa não foi bem vista. Já no passado casos semelhantes se deram.
Mas o mais flagrante deu-se talvez na novela “Quatro por Quatro”, em que ofensas verbais e agressões físicas foram reportadas nos bastidores, entre Elizabeth Savalla e Betty Lago. Ao que consta, a primeira, detentora de um currículo comprido, sentiu inveja do sucesso da outra, com um currículo curto mas a transbordar de talento. O autor então desenvolveu mais nuances para a personagem de Elizabeth, que iam de negra da favela, a Lady condessa. Uma fantochada! Onde na realidade, Elizabeth só provou que é sempre a mesma, com os mesmos tiques, interprete lá o que quiser.
O que me leva ao aspecto menos falado de todo este criticismo. O facto de existirem actores de renome, com fama criada, que não têm tanto talento assim. Alguns “nasceram e foram criados” no início da época das novelas, quando eram jovens e a beleza os ajudou imenso. Mas não se desenvolveram por aí além. Têm de facto um currículo extenso e merecem sem dúvida todo o respeito. Mas nem todos podemos ser iguais e há uns melhores que outros. Principalmente quando o veículo deixa de ser o teatro para ser a televisão. Isto não devia perturbar ninguém.
O TALENTO SE PERDE?
A meu ver sim. Tal como se ganha, também se perde. Deve ser necessário a um actor o exercício constante, para não cair em fórmulas das quais depois não se consegue regressar. Há casos provados de tal ter acontecido.
DEVE-SE SELECCIONAR PESSOAS?
Não me parece. Sei que existem muitos e bons actores, e é lamentável que não tenham todos iguais oportunidades. Mas a vida é assim em tudo. Uns pouco aparecem e são muito bons, mas vêm a TV como um veículo menor, dizem que a nobreza está no teatro, e só frequentam a televisão quando precisam de dinheiro para uma peça ou de conduzir o público às salas de teatro. Por outro lado, apesar de se introduzirem nas novelas pessoas fora da área, mas do meio, como cantores, apresentadores, jornalistas e novos rostos, também é verdade que lá estão sempre os mesmos. Parece existir espaço para todos e ao mesmo tempo, só para alguns. Muitos autores têm os seus actores predilectos, que colocam sempre nas tramas, o que a meu ver, cansa o espectador. Estou por exemplo, cansada de ver os mesmos rostos com os mesmos autores, a contracenarem entre si.

Although I understand the point of view, the reality is that many of the so auto-proclaimed great actors started pretty much the same way. The difference is just the age in win they where introduced to the craft. Being able to work with some legends, having a vast theatre experience in they résumés, they assume they’re within the best. Of course, experience and body work is something to respect. But is not a status of greatness.
Besides many of them when they started out, did also benefit by they looks that shadowed the lack of experience, being allowed to stay and develop the craft was what brought them to improve. Here’s some examples of great actresses that came from other backgrounds or had none what so ever: Mónica Carvalho, Cristiana Oliveira, Isadora Ribeiro, Betty Lago, Vera Fisher, Carolina Dieckman and Viviane Pasmanter. This last two had no experience what so ever when they started out in a mega role on a soap.
Other reason why soaps introduce new and beautiful faces and people with reputation in other areas in their stories is that they want to reach the most audience they can. If a popular singer gets a part on a soap, that will attract that singer fans to the product. If people get curious to see how a major reporter call Marília Gabriela delivers in her first soap, of course television owners won’t close the door on her. (I’ve always been curious about this particular crossing, because the difference here is that Gabriela always received lots of admiration and love from the artistic community that she so passionate interviewed, sometimes admitting having some jealousy and curiosity for the craft. So, how did they deal with another crossing?)
Actually, some actors with lot of prestige don’t show that much talent on television and that is not always because of bad characters, or bad script. Sometimes, they are not so great. Is this simple.
Is true there seems to be television roles for everyone. But other times, the faces are always the same, and that space seems to be just for few. I’m so tired of watching the same actors working with the same authors. The casts start to feel the same and people want renovation. I understand preferences, and working with people that make us give and achieve more. But it can’t be always like that.
Another thing that is starting to upset me as a spectator is that I’m always watching 30 something actors doing the role for younger ones. They still keep on making the young naive, honest type, that only recently left home, and their faces just aren’t there anymore. Although a good acting is pretty convincing and age should not be a killing factor, the fact is that more teen Alessandra Negrini don’t convince me. Especially in double! And never in a heroin role.
